Dr Calvin Chan is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Interventional Endoscopist with expertise in therapeutic endoscopy, including endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), and balloon enteroscopy. He received his degree in Medicine from the University of New South Wales and completed General Gastroenterology and Hepatology training at Royal North Shore Hospital, before undertaking fellowship training in Therapeutic Endoscopy at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Perth, and the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada.

Dr Chan is a Visiting Medical Officer at Norwest Private Hospital and Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital, and a Senior Staff Specialist at Nepean Public Hospital, where he is currently Director of Endoscopy. He also performs procedures at Pennant Hills Day Surgery.

He is accredited with the Gastroenterological Society of Australia to perform gastroscopy, colonoscopy, EUS and ERCP.

Dr Chan’s interests include general Gastroenterology, biliary and pancreatic disease, Barrett’s oesophagus, bowel cancer screening, inflammatory bowel disease and therapeutic endoscopy.

Dr Chan is actively involved in clinical research and teaching. He is a Clinical Senior Lecturer with the University of Sydney and has publications in multiple peer-reviewed journals. He has presented at national and international Gastroenterology conferences. He is also a reviewer for several Gastroenterology journals.
